In June 2026, I had the pleasure of taking part in the Leutzscher Kunstrasen event and presenting a selection of my artworks in the beautiful garden of a private residence in Leipzig. Despite the summer heat, many visitors came to enjoy an evening in a truly special atmosphere. The highlight of the event was the outstanding performance by the Gewandhaus Brass Quintet, whose music provided the perfect backdrop for the exhibition.
I was deeply touched by the interest so many guests showed in my work. It was a joy to share the stories behind my paintings, answer questions, and enjoy so many inspiring conversations throughout the evening.
One of the most rewarding moments as an artist is seeing a painting connect with someone. I was delighted that two artworks found new homes during the exhibition.
One was my watercolor “The Lantern Alley” inspired by the charming Mediterranean town of Menton on the French Riviera, painted on location during my recent trip, the collector fell in love with it the moment she saw it.
The second was my oil painting “Savannah Morning”, featuring two lions resting in the warm light of the African savannah. Knowing that this very personal painting has found a home where it will be appreciated for years to come brings me great happiness.
As a conservation artist, this sale is especially meaningful. Ten percent of the proceeds from my wildlife artworks arsupporting e donated to Wildlife ACT – the animal welfare organization I recently worked for in South Africa. Another ten percent support Leutzscher Kunstrasen and its commitment to bringing art, music and culture to the local community. Being able to share my passion for wildlife while giving something back to conservation makes every painting even more meaningful.
